How many of these songs do you remember? Well, okay, how many of the “names” do you remember, even if the melody and words are lost? I can recall about two-thirds of them, by one standard or the other, but must admit to being clueless about the remainder. Then, again, I was not as big a fan of the popular music of the day as many were, although some of these remain big favorites of mine. (There's “Alley-oop” at number 16, a significant one to me since V. T. Hamlin (the creator of the comic strip) was a customer on my paper route in those days!)

1960 Movies:

The biggest three money-makers, in descending order, were "Psycho", "La Dolce Vita", and "The Alamo". Burt Lancaster won the best actor Oscar for his role in "Elmer Gantry", and Elizabeth Taylor won for her work in "Butterfield Eight". "The Apartment", "Spartacus", "Never on Suday", "Where the Boys Are" and "Inherit the Wind" were also released in 1960.

(I've yet to see “Where the Boys Are”!)
