"I commute between Florida and Colorado. My wife won't come back here and I can't leave. So two weeks here and two weeks in Colorado the best of all worlds heaven in both places. My wife wanted kids to grow up in small town. She used to summer in Colorado. One kid went to U of F and another to Colorado State. Bought house in Ft Collins [Colorado] then Littleton Son and daughter working in Denver. Just bought a few acres outside Winter Park to build on. Wife likes Colorado and l can't afford to leave Sarasota. So split life. I practice law when I figure out what I'm doing when I grow up it will be time to change professions."
Kurt Lewis"We live in Bradenton Beach, on Anna Maria Island, where we've owned the Pelican Post Motel for the past 20 years. Walt has attended some reunions of the SHS Class of '59, the class he went through school with until he had a diving accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury, but hasn't been in touch with anyone from Riverview, I guess. (After a year in rehab, he was glad to be able to attend the new Riverview school which was wheelchair accessible, and that's how he ended up graduating with your class.) After high school, he went on to MCC, then USF for a degree in business, and then later to University of Miami where he did graduate work computer science...We also have a house in Merida, Yucatan, in Mexico, and spend a few weeks of the year down there."
Lois Post (wife of Walter Post)"From high school I went into the Navy and got some great training in electronics. After the Navy I started a career in racing and through some very fortunate circumstances eventually wound up racing in the Indianapolis 500. After racing, I met and married my wife Connie and we started a family. In 1989 we learned that I had the dreaded "C" word cancer (Lymphoma) and went through a year and half of chemotherapy. Then through some very miraculous circumstances I had a very experimental bone marrow transplant using my own bone marrow (which had been harvested and cleansed of the cancer) and I was completely healed. Since then, I have worked in the computer software industry and owned a company that developed software for the mortgage industry. For the past three years I have been working as the IT Director at the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles."
Mike Hiss"It was interesting perusing the photos, etc. How the years have changed us!"
Heather (Rolleston) Albright"After graduation, I went to Manatee Jr. College for two years, received a scholarship to Florida State University and graduated in 1964 with a B. S. in Business Administration. I subsequently entered the U. S. Air Force then upon discharge chose a Federal career in the Budget Analysis career field...then retired in 1998...Lana is also retired as an Environmental Chemist. I received a Master's degree (at age 50) in 1992 from the University of Houston, Clear Lake in Public Management, and also received an A. A. S. degree in Horticulture in 1975. Horticulture is my primary avocational interest. I have a website...on this subject. Lana and I are very active in a variety of church activities. I have become a Master Gardener in my retirement years, love doing websites, singing tenor in church choir, and playing senior softball. I am currently a nature center guide and do a lot of other volunteer work. We have been blessed by having foreign students from Germany and France live with us over an 8 year period and have made four trips to France, and Germany to visit them and their families...I remember how scrawny I was in high school struggling to get above 100 lbs. Well that's history - now a healthy 6'1" and 195 lbs. Life's been good!"
Bob Beyer"I am currently living in Poulsbo Washington with my husband, Jim Donivan (Plant High School, Tampa 1957) and beloved dog Sam. We will celebrate our 30th anniversary November 14. I have a stepson 33 years old and he and his wife are expecting their first child in December. I retired from Delta Air Lines in 1995. I am now working as a travel agent in Poulsbo. Jim and I are in the process of getting our house ready to sell (building a new deck and sprucing up the bathrooms) and moving back to Florida. We both have friends and relatives all over the state. Our goal is to settle on the west coast."
Donna (Hodges) Donivan"I was surprised to see so many of our classmates still in the Sarasota-Manatee area. I am surprised that I have not run into more of them in my travels. I worked for GTE for 25 years and lived in Sarasota for 44 years."
